Dynamic and Static Environments
The SLS enhanced can be mounted onto vehicles, such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs), safety and warning zones can be programmed to automatically change the position, speed and direction of the vehicle when something enters the safety or warning zones. Additionally, SLS-M5-E-1708-E is provided with encoder inputs to allow safe measuring of the speed of the vehicle.
The same configurations can also be applied to static units, used for when the working condition of a machine changes throughout the shift. You can also programme the scanner to mute areas of varying size and position, this is achieved my muting sensors that would be activated by the machine or load that will be entering or exiting the unsafe area. This allows for moving equipment in the area to still operate with certain allowable interventions.
Setting up
The Safety Laser Scanner Enhanced is easy to set up, the units configuration is via the bundled software which will quickly guide you through the set up process. Featuring standard connectors for all cabling to and from the unit and various mounting brackets available to suit any placements options. The units configuration is stored within the Memory Group Module, meaning you can easily swap the main unit out without needing to set up the system again, causing minimal downtime.
With a single cable, up to 4 Safety Laser Sentinel units can be connected in a Master/Slave configuration, through an Ethernet-based safe communication bus. This can provide a wider, more robust protection scheme without the need for individual set up or external controls units, saving time and money, due to the reduced time needed wiring and configuring software, as all 4 units work seamlessly and synchronised.
